1. Who we are

This privacy notice covers Cornwall Locksmiths, the lead generation service operating at cornwalllocksmiths.co.uk. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

Contact: hello@cornwalllocksmiths.co.uk.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect only what's needed to match you with a Cornwall locksmith. Specifically:

  • From the quote form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), postcode, the type of service you need, and any free-text notes you choose to add.
  • From email correspondence: whatever you choose to include in your messages.
  • Automatically via Google Analytics (only if you consent to cookies): anonymised browsing data — pages visited, time on site, approximate location (city-level), device type. No personally identifying information is collected by Analytics.

3. How we use your data

We use your data only to:

  • Match you with a vetted local locksmith appropriate for your job and location.
  • Reply to your enquiry with confirmation, follow-up, or clarifying questions.
  • Maintain basic records of who we've matched, for our own internal tracking and quality control.
  • Understand site usage (anonymised analytics only, with your consent).

We do not sell, share, or rent your data to advertisers or third parties beyond what's strictly needed to fulfil your request (described below).

4. Lawful basis

Under UK GDPR, our lawful bases for processing are:

  • Consent — when you submit a quote form, you are consenting to us forwarding the request to a specialist.
  • Legitimate interests — for keeping internal records of matches made, responding to enquiries, and improving our service.
  • Consent (cookies) — for analytics cookies, only after you actively accept via the cookie banner.

5. Who we share your data with

The minimum number of third parties needed to operate the service:

  • The matched locksmith: when we match you, we share your name, contact details, postcode, and job description with the locksmith so they can quote you. They become a separate data controller at that point.
  • Brevo (transactional email provider): used to send notification emails. They process email content briefly to deliver it. Brevo privacy policy.
  • n8n (form backend): self-hosted on our own server; receives form submissions and routes them. No third-party data processor in this step.
  • Cloudflare (CDN + Turnstile bot protection): processes IP addresses and browser fingerprints to filter spam submissions. Cloudflare privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics (anonymised, consent-based): used to understand site usage. Google privacy policy.

6. Cookies and analytics

This site uses only Google Analytics for site usage measurement. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or third-party tracking pixels.

By default, Google Analytics is blocked until you accept cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics data is collected. You can revoke consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.

The site also uses Cloudflare Turnstile on the quote form for bot protection. This is required for the form to function and does not track you across sites — it only verifies you're human on the form page itself.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Quote requests: retained for 24 months for service records, then deleted.
  • Email correspondence: retained for 24 months in our mailbox, then archived or deleted.
  • Analytics data: 14 months default retention in Google Analytics, anonymised.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — ask us to delete your data, subject to legitimate exceptions
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Objection — object to specific uses of your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@cornwalllocksmiths.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

9. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can address the issue. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. Any material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised "last updated" date. The version in force at the time you submitted data applies to that data, unless we have your express agreement to apply an updated version.
